You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.
Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at University Meadows has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.
Each resident at University Meadows pays a flat rate that includes:
- High-speed internet
- Trash disposal
- Community features – business center, pool, etc.
The spacious accommodations at University Meadows include 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, with a single bedroom for each resident and available private bathrooms.
University Meadows offered an optional furniture package for an additional cost. The furniture package includes a full-size bed, desk, chair, and a dresser in each bedroom; the living room includes a sofa, chair, coffee table and end table, the kitchen includes a dining table with chairs.
The standard term is August 16, 2027 to July 24, 2028, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.
Each resident must pay an administrative fee for each contract year. This fee is reduced significantly if the resident provides a qualifying guarantor (often a parent) for their financial obligations under Housing Agreement.
Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. University Meadows also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.
Your living costs at University Meadows can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at University Meadows. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.
Nearly all the residents at University Meadows are students at Central Michigan University and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. University Meadows is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students and residents with children, at no extra cost other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. In order to match roommates in shared apartments with college students, roommate consent is required for any occupant who is not a college student.
University Meadows has individually locking bedroom doors. Management staff are also available 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.
University Meadows is a pet-friendly community, subject to limits on animals and breeds. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent spaces. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of apartment-mates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.
University Meadows provides offers free on-site parking and plenty of bike storage for residents and guests. We also offer reserved covered parking for an additional cost.
The university shuttle, iRide, picks up residents in front of the University Meadows clubhouse and at the back of the community. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes Monday through Friday between 7am and 7pm when class is in session during Fall and Spring semesters, with multiple stops on campus. Residents will have to schedule with iRide over the weekend or outside of the regular Monday – Friday 7 am to 7 pm hours.
